Client had a great view...but NOTHING on it.
Found some really unique porch furniture in
my travels.  Called the client and they met me
and we went with it!
This client had a higher budget so
most of my time was spent furniture
shopping with them.  We finally
decided on this gorgeous glass topped
set and went with subdued colors for a
relaxing mood.  I went with two
colors-one above and below the chair
rail that was already there. We found
the chandelier at Bombay Company's
end of year clearance, and picked up
new lamp shades at Pier One at $4 a
piece...
My client Mike said it was like sitting in
a Club Room in Victorian England.
The room already had these great
custom cherry paneling and woodwork.
I picked a butterscotch color to go
over the builder beige to make the
woodwork stand out more. I wanted a
more masculine lodge feel so I showed
Mike some oversized carmel leather
furniture that I found at Wolf's on sale,
along with these really different coffee
tables and end tables.
I think many people like red but they
are kind of afraid of it.  In this master
bedroom, we brought red in the accent
pieces and linens.  I found this bed at
Ikea when I was shopping for another
client.  I called them and told them to
look it up on the internet while I was
standing there.  We eventually went
with the matching dresser and end
tables.  They already had a light
laminate flooring so this matching
furniture really tied it all together.
Mike and Terry had one tiny, tiny room
at their beach place.  We decided to
go with a twin bed and went with a lime
green wall color to keep it bright
beachy and fun since it was a vacation
home
These folks had a quote from a designer from
Philadelphia with an estimate of (get this....) $53,000!.
After interviewing them, I coached them on just a
repaint and some furniture & accessories.

my full page of services...all at $45 an hour!
I am always amazed at what great art
and other accessories people have
stuck in closets or in rooms they never
used.  Mike and Terri had some really
cool paintings that looked fantastic in
their new place.  I found the oar at a
2nd hand shop and put it above the
window to add to the beach feel.
